Aliens!

Some bug hit me hard the other day (no pun intended, well...maybe just a little), and I had to call in sick--no fun at all. The good part was that it gave me time to edit these old clips together.

Locomotion for these critters was a bit tricky since they only had three legs. Don't look too closely as there was a lot of cheating involved.

Oh, and be careful--some clips may not be suitable for children!

Your animation skills have gone through the roof! I'm not sure if it's just the subject matter but I think this is my favorite of the work you've posted thus far.

Haha--I knew it! For some reason I was thinking, "Ian might find some interest in these."

Thanks man. And good to see you back in action.

WHOA! That critter flung that dude's body off the edge! I likes a lot. The aliens waiting at the bottom of that ledge - great timing.

Awesome stuff. Love the interaction between the 3-legged guy and the human. Freaky but great! :)

I cant see the video did you take it off TJ?

Hmm...interesting. Another friend mentioned that he can't view it either. I uploaded it the same way as I've been doing for all the other videos and for me, it seems to play fine on IE and Firefox, both at home and at work. Not sure what it is, but I'll try to re-upload the video again tonight.

Hey Ali, my friend who also couldn't view the clip did manage to watch it from his computer at home. But just in case, I've re-uploaded the clip. Let me know if it'll play for you this time around. Maybe it was just some random "bug"--heheh.

GoodNIGHT, TJ... I just stumbled upon these. Soo good! The personality you give your characters is unmatched!

When the characters change from white to textured is that donating a change in animation systems? like handkeyed to mocap? ...or something?

TJ Phan said...

Michael--as always, thanks for the encouraging words!

I'm assuming you're referring to the Spiderwick anims in the previous animation post.

I manually set up the white textures to clarify that those specific parts were using existing keyframed animation done by friends at work.
