New Demo Reel

________________________________________________________

________________________________________________________

I posted a rough cut of my new reel on my website. I'll be polishing as time allows, so feel free to let me know if there's anything I should do to improve it or if there are anims I should just take out.

I know it's a bit long...I fell into the trap of trying to sync with the soundtrack:) Speaking of audio, you may have to replay the reel after it's been "loaded." I'm not sure if it's just me, but through Quicktime, the audio seems to get out of sync here and there.
Hopefully I'll have time to post a cleaner cut next week.

PS. Thanks again to everyone who helped me pick out what goes in and what stays out. Your feedback last week proved to be incredibly useful!

Dude..That was sick! I'm an AM student and follow your blog on and off..(when I'm not key-framing), and during your reel I couldn't help but to keep saying.."Dang..what a bastard"(in an admirable way) Kudos man..real good work!

Hey TJ!
Kick-ass reel man,,,,The dialogues are great and are very appropriately placed. And as always, I just love your action oriented animation.
Awesome reel!

Dude... this is how it's done. You can write yourself a ticket to any studio with that reel.

Do the rigs you commonly work with have an FK/IK switch? And if so, do you have an automatic match-up when the 2 switch?

...oh, and in a few weeks I'll be off to Blue Sky Studios! Some day TJ, I would love to work with you. =)

Later, and keep playing those games!

The one comment I have on this reel, after watching it a dozen times (which isn't even an animation related comment), is to dampen the music when the audio clips come on. The "where's Dante" one is the most effected as the voices are more subdude than the rest.

so freakin' cool man... lol, and even though I've heard this song on a lot of trailers recently, it's still such a rad beat.

Michael--as always, thanks for the encouraging words. And thanks for the audio tip. Another friend made the same suggestion. I'll definitely put that on my hitlist.

Most of the rigs that I've used have some form of FKIK matching. This is probably one of the first things I'd ask for if it didn't.

And big congrats on Blue Sky! I see you fitting right in. Yeah, it'd definitely be cool to talk animation while at the same studio one day.

AWESOME TJ! So Inspiring! Very entertaining (those dialogue shots turned out so good, if we get some of that action on the big screen, its over.)

Thanks Bobby. And your sketches and animation are always inspiration for me!
